A GAME THAT WILL MAKE YOU DISCOVER WHAT MADE SONIC AN ICON.
Sonic Mania is a side-scrolling platform game developed by Headcannon and PagodaWest Games and published by Sega. Experience the ultimate celebration of past and future in Sonic Mania, an all-new 2D Sonic adventure running at a crisp 60FPS with stunning HD retro-style graphics. Players select one of three playable characters, each with their own unique abilities. Sonic Mania takes place over twelve levels, called zones. The game features four original zones alongside eight “remixed” zones from past games, such as Green Hill Zone from the original Sonic the Hedgehog. Sonic can perform a “drop dash” which sends him rolling in a dash after a jump, Tails can fly and swim, and Knuckles can glide and climb walls. As with Sonic the Hedgehog 2, players can either play as Sonic and Tails simultaneously, or allow Tails to be independently controlled by a second player. Go head-to-head with players in Competition Mode or play in Co-Op Mode with a friend. Welcome to Sonic Mania!

Sonic Mania Review
Sonic Mania is easily the best game of the speedy blue hedgehog in years. If you love the blue hedgehog, though, you cannot let this one go: it's huge, challenging, full of secrets, with lots and lots of different situations. It not only incorporates what made Sonic great, but has the inventiveness to shatter what was possible in a 2D platformer. As a nostalgia trip, it sets the bar for what comes next for the modding community. From new areas, imaginative second acts and some delightful boss encounters, the development team has poured a lot of passion and talent into the project. Exciting level design, a stellar soundtrack, and cool expansions on the original formula work in one accord to deliver the Sonic game fans have been waiting for. With Sonic Mania, Christian Whitehead and his team have done exactly what fans have wanted for years.
